Job description

We're looking for Design Managers to join our Strategic Projects business at Kier Group. This role will work on a major project in one of our core sectors that include Custodial, Healthcare, Life Science, and Defence.

Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire.

Hours: Full Time, Permanent.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Design Manager, you'll be working within the Design team, supporting them on projects across a variety of different sectors including Commercial, Public Sector, and Health.

Your day to day will include:

  1. Management and delivery of design information in accordance with the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule.
  2. Design input at both preconstruction and construction stage of projects.
  3. The production of design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, appointments, and schedules.
  4. Attending/chairing necessary meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

This role of Design Manager is great for you if you have:

  1. Experience of delivering high value, complex design work from the main contractor perspective.
  2. Ability to organise, plan, programme, and manage workloads.
  3. Experience of site/contract procedures would be an advantage.
