We are seeking an experienced Battery Energy Storage Scheme Design Manager to join Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), a fully integrated design and construction business that harnesses the contracting strength of JN Bentley and the design expertise of Mott MacDonald.

You will be leading a team delivering a growing programme of projects in the Battery Energy Storage System market, integrating our core design team with expertise from across the Mott MacDonald global regions.

1. As part of our Senior Leadership Team, you will develop strong and productive relationships with our clients to ensure our work exceeds their expectations and delivers for their customers and the environment.
2. You will be accountable for delivering exceptional health and safety, project, and financial performance while providing excellent customer service.
3. You will lead the delivery and assurance that MMB meets its obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (2015) as the Principal Designer and Designer.
4. As a Senior Leader, you will play a key role in setting the team culture, focusing on safety, caring for our people, client focus, and maintaining a fun environment.
5. You will manage our people strategy, including recruitment, retention, staff development, competence, and performance management, to meet current demands and future growth.

We are looking for people who have:

1. A degree qualification (or equivalent) in engineering or science.
2. Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent).
3. Experience managing and developing a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
4. A proven record of delivering design projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards, managing competing priorities in a design & build environment.
5. Competent project management skills with knowledge of civil and electrical construction methods at all voltage levels.
6. An excellent track record in delivering major projects from concept to completion.
7. Highly skilled electrical network design experience working at transmission level and within DNO environments.
8. Experience in designing at all voltage levels from LV to 400kV systems.
9. Experience in designing new connections and discretionary capital work programmes, with capability to tender large, complex projects.
