At OctaviusInfrastructure, we are committed to excellence in delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions. We are currently seeking a talented Design Manager to join our team. Working on Network Rail's North-West & Central Enhancements Framework and Access for All schemes. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact schemes that significantly enhance the railway infrastructure across multiple regions. The locations of these works could be across Southern or in between Stratford and London.

Role Overview:

As Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the design aspects of projects ranging from £7m to £20m in value. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure that all design work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the design process from conception to completion, ensuring all designs meet project requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors, to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Oversee the preparation of design documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Manage design-related risks, identifying and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with Network Rail and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the design team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure all design activities are delivered within budget and on schedule.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Working towards Professional membership with a recognized institution (e.g., ICE, MIET, IEE, IMechE).
  • Experience in design management within the rail infrastructure sector.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale projects on Network Rail infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of relevant design standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
