Lusona are delighted to be exclusively partnering with NorDan for two Design Manager posts based in either Livingston or Birmingham . NorDan are a market leader in the Manufacturing, supply and installation of customised windows and doors across the UK and Europe. They are renowned for delivering innovative solutions and operational excellence.

Based in West Lothian, they are now seeking a talented and experienced Design Manager to oversee and manage the design function across multiple key projects.

The Opportunity

As Design Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the full lifecycle of design projects—from initial concept through to final delivery. You will lead a skilled team, ensuring all outputs meet client expectations, industry standards, and project timelines.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing design projects to ensure timely and on-budget delivery
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective design solutions. This would include external architects, Civil and Structural Designers, M&E Designers, NHBC, building control and insurance providers to name but a few
  • Attend and lead design team meetings
  • Providing leadership, mentorship, and support to junior design staff
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards

Experience required for the role :

  • Proven experience in a Design Manager role within the Property & Construction sector
  • Strong leadership and project management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Understanding of Cad and preferably Revit although Revit is not essential
  • Understand and interpret drawings - this may suit an individual from an Architectural, Civil & Structural or M&E background who would like to progress to manage projects end- to- end
  • Previous contract administration experience would be an advantage
