Job summary

Hunter Savage is seeking a Design Manager for a leading construction organisation. Based in Belfast with UK & ROI travel, you will own the design process across major projects, coordinating with consultants, subcontractors, clients and project teams.

We look for a candidate with a degree in construction or design and several years of design management experience, capable of leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with specifications and planning requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in construction or design.
• 3+ years' construction project experience, including design management responsibilities.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing design information.
• Strong document management and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage design development from pre-construction through to project completion.
• Appoint, manage and monitor consultants, designers and specialist subcontractors.
• Develop design programmes and Information Release Schedules.
• Review and coordinate design information, ensuring compliance with specifications and statutory requirements.
• Chair technical and design meetings and manage RFIs, approvals and drawing control.
• Monitor Planning, BCAR and BREEAM requirements.
• Provide technical and commercial support, identifying design risks, value engineering and opportunities.
• Support tender submissions, client presentations and project handover documentation.
• Promote safe, sustainable and innovative design solutions.

The Role
