Job description

The Role:

As Design Manager, you will:

  1. Lead and manage the design process for a range of energy projects, including renewable energy projects (e.g., wind farms, solar farms), power generation facilities, and energy transmission and distribution infrastructure.
  2. Develop and implement design strategies that meet project requirements, technical specifications, and regulatory standards.
  3. Coordinate and manage the work of internal and external design teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  4. Oversee the production of design drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
  5. Review and approve design deliverables, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and quality.
  6. Manage design risk, identify potential issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  7. Ensure timely and cost-effective design delivery.
  8. Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.

What We're Looking For:

  1. A proven track record in design management within the civil engineering industry, ideally with significant experience in the energy sector.
  2. A strong understanding of energy sector regulations, best practices, and design standards relevant to the types of energy projects undertaken (e.g., wind farms, power generation, transmission & distribution).
  3. Excellent knowledge of relevant design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
  4. Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  5. A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to design management, with a commitment to delivering high-quality designs within budget and schedule.
