Overview

Design Manager - to £90,000 salary. Davis Mills has been instructed to source a talented Design Manager. The company is an ambitious construction main contractor based in North London. Their proven expertise enables them to solve the demanding and technically difficult issues often raised by new and historic buildings alike. The breadth of their experience and skills base, mean they deliver the whole project - from initial concept through to completion and beyond as needed. They focus on a can-do attitude to provide the highest standards of safety, environmental protection / enhancement and quality project delivery. The Design Manager will be based on a £25m change of use, from commercial to residential, which will involve structural alterations and fit out to an excellent standard.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the design process using commercial, contractual, programme / time awareness and technical expertise.
  • The Design Manager will support, understand and advise the client as to the requirements and obligations in the development of a building design.
  • Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice where appropriate
  • Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales
  • Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
