TipTopJob in Cheltenham is seeking a Mechanical Design Manager to lead the design team and oversee bespoke automation and special-purpose machinery projects. The role involves managing workloads, ensuring on-time delivery, budget control, and maintaining quality standards.

You will drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and collaborate with manufacturing, controls, electrical and project teams while conducting performance reviews and supporting staff development.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a Mechanical Design team.
• Strong background in special:purpose machinery, automation or robotics.
• Experience delivering projects from concept through to manufacture.
• Proficient with 3D CAD, engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Strong communication, planning and problem solving skills.
• Continuous improvement mindset and commitment to engineering excellence.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Manager to join a growing engineering and automation business delivering bespoke machinery projects across a range of industrial sectors.

Role and Responsibilities
