Shore Construction is currently recruiting for a Design Manager to join the team and support our D&B projects, valued at up to £15 million, across the UK.We are looking for an experienced Design Manager from a Main Contractor background. The initial project will be a 9-storey redevelopment, RC frame residential block located in Wimbledon. Your weeks will vary between our Brighton office and the Wimbledon site.If you're interested in joining a unique company with a balanced culture that's both hardworking and genuinely friendly, this could be a great fit for you.Due to the nature of the role, you will ideally meet the following requirements: * Experience of executing new build, residential apartment blocks (BTR / PBSA) * Knowledge of AutoCAD * Understand RIBA building stages * Control and process information associated to local planning authority planning obligations * Experience of liaising with local authorities and statutory service provider * Processing BREEAM requirements * Compiling and collating information for Operation and Maintenance files. * Preferably a qualified ArchitectKey Responsibilities will include: * Responsible for all design duties from the tender stage through to project completion * Reviewing tender documentation and establishing design requirements * Compile risk register associated to design * Ensuring required consultants are appointed and have knowledge of what service each consultant is to provide * Challenge designs and explore valued engineering opportunities * Co-ordinate all designers and elements of information they provide * Set the agenda and chair design meetings * Format design release schedules in accordance with construction programme. * Define requirements of designer’s scope of services * Process drawings and information and ensure the information is distributed to appropriate parties * Assist with the preparation, collation, and presentation of reports. * Demonstrate knowledge of construction designs: - including: * Architectural * Structural * Civil * Fire protection * M&E services * Thermal * AcousticsIf this role interests you, please apply today
