Job summary

The SeaKing Group is seeking an Electrical/Design Engineer for an on-site role based in the Northwest of the United Kingdom. The position focuses on managing electrical engineering projects from design through delivery on marine, defence, and offshore sectors.

You will prepare plans and schedules, support commissioning and testing, and contribute to design documentation and MOD-compliant reports while traveling to vessels and facilities as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of HNC/HND qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering; will consider candidates with similar qualifications if they can provide evidence of their experience
• Experience working on Royal Navy or MOD programmes
• Knowledge of marine electrical installation and commissioning activities
• Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution or working towards EngTech/IEng

Responsibilities

• Manage Electrical Engineering projects from design through delivery.
• Prepare project plans, schedules, progress reports and technical deliverables.
• Support commissioning, testing, fault finding and system integration activities.
• Produce and review electrical system designs for marine and defence applications.
• Generate design documentation in accordance with MOD requirements and company procedures.
• Create and maintain equipment specifications, test procedures and technical reports.
• Support design reviews and engineering change processes.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation to MOD standards.
• Attend vessels, shipyards, naval establishments and customer facilities as required.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering support during project execution.

This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical/Design Engineer, based in the Northwest.

Role Description

• Manage Electrical Engineering projects from design (based upon information provided) through to delivery.
• Prepare project plans, schedules, progress reports, and technical deliverables.
• Support commissioning, testing, fault finding, and system integration activities.

Electrical Design & Technical Documentation

• Produce and review electrical system designs for marine and defence applications.
• Generate design documentation in accordance with MOD requirements and company procedures.
• Create and maintain:
• Equipment specifications
• Test procedures
• Technical reports
• Support design reviews and engineering change processes.

Defence & MOD Documentation

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation to MOD standards.
• Support the development of defence-related technical publications and engineering reports.
• Contribute to configuration management activities and design assurance processes.
• Ensure documentation complies with applicable defence writing and documentation standards.

Site & Customer Support

• Attend Vessels, Shipyards, Naval establishments, and customer facilities as required.
• Support installation, commissioning, acceptance trials, and customer demonstrations.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering support during project execution.

• Understanding of systems engineering methodologies.
• Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution or working towards professional registration (EngTech/IEng).
