Job description

People Solutions are looking for a Design Engineer to join our client based in Oldbury.

Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - Early finish

Salary:

£40,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Create 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks
  • Develop innovative product designs and refine existing ones
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and R&D teams to ensure design feasibility
  • Support prototyping, testing, and continuous product improvement
  • Communicate with suppliers and customers to clarify technical specifications
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations
Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Design Engineer (preferably in manufacturing)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Confident communicator with strong teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of design for manufacture (DFM) and material selection
  • Experience working on bespoke or customised products
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and quality systems
Training and Development:
  • Fully paid induction and onboarding
