Description

GMSV has been created to meet the demand for specialist requests from customers around the world. Requests for unique and niche designs have increased during 2024 as T.50 customer deliveries have commenced, enhancing the car’s reputation as the ultimate supercar for the road, supported by media reviews and international promotional appearances. The new division, with an independent structure and engineering team, has been established to fulfill these special requests now and in the future.

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer

with a strong background in mechanical systems, particularly focusing on powertrain and chassis components, to join our dynamic engineering team. You will be responsible for delivering innovative and high-performance solutions throughout the vehicle development cycle, from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop mechanical systems, focusing on powertrain integration (engine mounts, cooling systems, exhaust, etc.) and chassis components (suspension, steering, braking, subframes).
  2. Create and manage CAD models, detailed drawings, and assemblies.
  3. Collaborate with simulation, analysis, and testing teams to ensure solutions are robust, lightweight, and high-performing.
  4. Support DFMEA creation and implement the DVP (Design Verification Plan).
  5. Work with other engineering functions (e.g., Structures, Body, Electrical) to ensure system compatibility and integration.
  6. Interface with suppliers to develop and validate parts meeting technical and timing requirements.
  7. Participate in design reviews and present concepts and solutions to senior engineering and project stakeholders.
  8. Ensure all designs comply with legislative, safety, and company performance targets.
  9. Support prototype build phases and production release.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Proven experience in powertrain and/or chassis system design within the automotive or motorsport industry.
  3. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
  4. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Siemens NX preferred, but others considered).
  5. Knowledge of vehicle packaging constraints and system integration challenges.
  6. Good understanding of component testing, validation, and durability requirements.
  7. Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  8. A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Desirable
  1. Experience in low-volume or high-performance vehicle development.
  2. Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter).
  3. Understanding of hybrid or electric powertrain systems is an advantage.
  4. Knowledge of chassis tuning and vehicle dynamics principles.
