Job Description

Grundfos Manufacturing based in Sunderland is seeking a talented and experienced Engineer to Order (ETO) Design Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for specifying and designing a range of bespoke pumping solutions for offsite build to meet the needs of our customers in Building Services, Water Utilities, and Industry. You will also develop professional relationships with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include:

• Fulfilling customer enquiries and providing technical and cost information to support sales and delivery processes.
• Managing product specification development and supporting production and support departments with accurate information such as drawings, bills of materials, and line-side guidance.
• Supporting quick cost and sizing estimation of project orders.
• Initiating and managing Engineer to Order pumping projects from enquiry to delivery and commissioning, ensuring project requirements are fulfilled throughout the process.
• Creating general arrangement designs from customer specifications, including P&ID.
• Supporting Project Fulfilment Manager with project control.
• Coordinating project requirements and expediting actions across Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, and external stakeholders for complex orders.
• Developing and improving Grundfos’ project order processes.
• Supporting the implementation and development of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.

Qualifications and experience:

• Degree in mechanical or structural engineering or a minimum of ONC in a related discipline with relevant experience.
• Experience in delivering engineered products and services; automotive or pumping solutions experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience with new product introduction or project delivery, with a strong drive to meet or exceed commitments.
• Proficiency with leading 2/3D CAD packages for creating general arrangement drawings; Catia and Revit are advantageous.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning systems, e.g., SAP, is desirable.
• Competency with Microsoft Office packages.
