Job summary

Ross-Shire Engineering Limited is seeking a Design Engineer for a permanent role in our in-house Design team in the UK. You will lead from scoping to detailed design and implementation, with a strong emphasis on low-carbon solutions and regulatory compliance.

You will tackle diverse projects across water and utility sectors, performing checks with RFEM, Nastran, and Mathcad, and delivering design specs and reports within project timelines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Knowledge of British Standards and Eurocodes preferred.
• Ability to analyse structures for stress/deflection with hand calcs and FEM.

Responsibilities

• Perform checks on structures and equipment using RFEM, Idea Statica, Nastran and Mathcad.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders across the business.
• Produce preliminary and detailed designs using 3D modelling.
• Compile engineering calculation reports to suit project needs.
• Conduct site visits to Water Treatment Works, Power Stations and industrial sites.
• Compile design specifications.
• Adhere to QA procedures and project timelines.
