Role Overview

As a Design Engineer, you will conduct detailed design and checks of temporary works, providing technical support for operational activities, and contribute to design conceptualization by challenging the brief and developing innovative engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed design.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing concept designs with the project team and client, managing their detailed development.
  • Supporting digital engineering teams in modeling and drawing production to communicate design intent.
  • Mitigating construction risks through design and communicating residual risks.
  • Supporting preconstruction in developing tender designs.
  • Managing staged technical reviews for assurance.
  • Collaborating with project teams to understand timelines, risks, and constraints.
  • Representing McGee as a Specialist Engineering Contractor and driving sustainable solutions.

About You:

  • Proven track record in a similar role within a reputable consultancy or contractor’s in-house design team, or readiness for a step-up.
  • Experience with operational limitations of structures.
  • Knowledge of current CDM regulations and design codes.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage at all levels.
  • Structured, performance-driven, and professional.
