Role
  • Design Engineer position dealing with a high end manufactured range of door and window hardware such as: locks, hinges, handles, knockers, letter plates, lock cylinders
  • Design and develop new locking systems and hardware, from concept to production
  • Utilise 2D/3D CAD tools to create models, drawings, and prototypes
  • Collaborate with colleagues across R&D, manufacturing, and sales to ensure products meet customer needs and can be produced efficiently
  • Conduct research on materials, technologies, and industry trends to inform designs
  • Test prototypes, analyse results, and refine designs for performance, safety, and cost
  • Prepare technical documents and contribute to product pages
  • Contribute to ideas for improving current product ranges
Ideal applicant will be a Design Engineer - Door Hardware with
  • Must have Design / Product Development / R&D experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Ideally will have experience dealing with architectural ironmongery, door hardware, fenestration or associated ironmongery products
  • Must have AutoCAD / SolidWorks experience
  • The ability to work under pressure and to timescales when required
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • IT literate (Microsoft Office)
  • High levels of organisation, attention to detail and numerical skills
