Remuneration: £35,000 - £45,000

Role
- Design Engineer position dealing with a high end manufactured range of door and window hardware such as: locks, hinges, handles, knockers, letter plates, lock cylinders
- Design and develop new locking systems and hardware, from concept to production
- Utilise 2D/3D CAD tools to create models, drawings, and prototypes
- Collaborate with colleagues across R&D, manufacturing, and sales to ensure products meet customer needs and can be produced efficiently
- Conduct research on materials, technologies, and industry trends to inform designs
- Test prototypes, analyse results, and refine designs for performance, safety, and cost
- Prepare technical documents and contribute to product pages
- Contribute to ideas for improving current product ranges
Ideal applicant will be a Design Engineer - Door Hardware with
- Must have Design / Product Development / R&D experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Ideally will have experience dealing with architectural ironmongery, door hardware, fenestration or associated ironmongery products
- Must have AutoCAD / SolidWorks experience
- The ability to work under pressure and to timescales when required
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- IT literate (Microsoft Office)
- High levels of organisation, attention to detail and numerical skills
