Job title: Design Engineer – Hydraulics

Qualifications: BE / B/Tech – Mechanical / Automotive / or Equivalent

Job Responsibilities:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identifying needs, setting requirements, defining problems
• Concept, design, and detailing of systems and components
• Communicating design requirements to internal and external customers
• Setting and overseeing the validation of the requirements
• Product launch support
• Problem-solving through the product lifecycle

Must Have:

• Basic rounded Engineering knowledge
• Demonstrates understanding of stress, strain, fatigue and understands manual calculations
• Design methodology taking designs through the product lifecycle
• Material specifications
• Understanding of structures
• Applies BS8888 and creates good-quality drawings
• Proficient in CAD, ideally Solid Edge
• Proficient and accurate in BOM creation
• Fastener technology
• Familiar with design fundamentals of multiple vehicle systems
• Relevant manufacturing processes
• Relevant experience/automotive knowledge including yellow goods, Hydraulics, Chassis, Vehicle Integration, Vehicle Systems
• Working with customers and suppliers to develop and improve products
• Demonstrates awareness of Cost/Quality/Time
• Takes ownership of individual tasks and works within guidelines to resolve within the required timing without supervision
