Job Title: Design Engineer - Air and Fuel Systems

About the Role
As a Design Engineer for Air and Fuel Systems within the Component Engineering department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, reliable air and fuel system components from concept to production.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- 6-8 years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals and engine components/systems
- Experience with CAD (Creo) for designing powertrain components, specifically internal combustion reciprocating engines
- Expertise in fuel systems, air systems, EGR systems, and turbochargers
- Ability to utilize simulation tools for design analysis
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver component development projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Lead and participate in design reviews for approval and support
- Develop specifications and collaborate with suppliers to ensure robust designs
- Conduct FMEA assessments and coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R)
- Investigate technical issues using 8D problem-solving methods
- Translate customer requirements into effective design solutions
- Prepare and review technical documentation for production release
- Collaborate with global teams to implement solutions at manufacturing sites
- Promote continuous improvement using Lean principles
- Experience with fuel systems, air systems, EGR systems, or turbochargers
- Familiarity with APQP, FMEA, and DVP&R processes
- Background in off-highway diesel engine sector
- Experience in simulation and test-based component development
