Are you an experienced Design Engineer with a passion for geotechnical and piling solutions? Do you enjoy owning projects from concept through to delivery? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded specialist contractor working on a broad range of foundation engineering projects across the UK.

About the Role:

You’ll play a key part in managing and delivering bespoke piling solutions for a variety of clients – from residential extensions to large commercial and industrial builds. On average, you will handle around 10 enquiries a month, taking ownership of the design and estimation process from initial customer contact to handover.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining technical design, client communication, and pre-construction planning. The team works collaboratively to manage over 6,000 enquiries per year, and your contribution will be vital in helping the business continue to grow and meet demand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to and managing technical enquiries
  • Producing designs for bearing piles, tension piles, and laterally loaded piles
  • Estimating costs and preparing tenders
  • Collaborating with clients to understand project requirements
  • Supporting projects from tender stage through to mobilisation
  • Liaising with a close-knit regional design and estimating team

About You:

  • Proven design experience within piling or geotechnical engineering
  • Proficient in designing bearing piles, tension piles, and laterally loaded piles
  • A practical, can-do approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and client liaison skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or a relevant subject (MSc and/or Chartered status preferred)
