Job summary

Euro-Projects Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Design Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer offering £28,000 - £33,000 plus benefits and an early finish on Friday. Commutable from Nottingham, Mansfield, Chesterfield and Derbyshire, the role develops your CAD and product lifecycle skills in a supportive engineering environment.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering).
• Some experience or exposure to 3D CAD design across the full design lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of CAD tools such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the design and development of new products, components and engineering solutions.
• Creating detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Supporting the design process from initial concept through to production.
• Working with experienced Design Engineers to develop technical and engineering knowledge.
• Supporting engineering projects through documentation, data management and records.
• Collaborating with manufacturing, quality and other engineering teams to ensure designs meet requirements.

Are you a Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer, CAD Design Engineer or Graduate Engineer looking for an opportunity where you can develop your design skills, gain hands‑on engineering experience and work alongside experienced Design Engineers?

The Design Engineer Role

As a Design Engineer, you will join an established engineering team and work closely with experienced Design Engineers, developing your technical skills across the full product design and engineering lifecycle.

You will gain exposure to 3D CAD design, 2D engineering drawings, product development, design documentation and manufacturing, while contributing to genuine engineering projects rather than simply producing CAD drawings.

This role would suit a Graduate Design Engineer, Junior Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or CAD Engineer looking to take the next step in your career within a supportive and technically strong engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking for a Design Engineer, Graduate Engineer, Junior Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or CAD Design Engineer who is keen to develop their engineering career.

You should have:

• A relevant engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or a related discipline.
• Some previous experience or exposure to 3D CAD design.
• Working knowledge of CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar.
• An understanding of mechanical engineering principles and technical drawings.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of an engineering team.
• A proactive approach and a genuine desire to learn, develop and build a career in design engineering.

You do not need to be an experienced Design Engineer. Graduate and junior‑level candidates with the right engineering qualifications, CAD knowledge and attitude will be considered, with full training and mentorship provided.
