Our Role

We are seeking a HV Design Engineer to join our Connections team. You will produce designs and quotations for customers connecting to our network, focusing on demand and generation applications of 1MVA and above.

The role requires high technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage workloads to meet standards and expectations. You will ensure designs are safe, cost-effective, and compliant with regulations and policies.

You should be familiar with new Low Carbon technologies connecting to the Distribution Network, such as Electric Vehicle chargers, heat pumps, batteries, and solar.

Knowledge of ENA ER G5, G98, G99, and experience designing generation systems are essential. You will also ensure data integrity, accurate forecasting, and meet your acceptance targets.

What We’re Looking For

• HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (essential)
• Understanding of 6.6kV / 11kV systems and substations (essential)
• Experience in electrical engineering design and industry standards
• Knowledge of electrical network components and operation
• Understanding of Construction Design Management regulations
• Leadership and team motivation skills
• Knowledge of the connections market competition
