Job description

Our clients based close to Portsmouth have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join their growing team!

The Design Engineer will work on the design and development of new and existing products, from concept through to product launch. This is an opportunity to work within a skilled team in New Product Design and Development, influencing the design and launch of new products to our clients' portfolio.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

The primary duty of the successful candidate is to work within the Product Design team, contributing to the design of products while meeting project deadlines and department KPIs. Responsibilities include:

1. Produce 3D CAD designs and technical drawings for manufacture and customers
2. Provide technical support to sales staff
3. Adhere to Global Engineering standards
4. Manage cross-functional teams/DFMEA processes to identify problems during new product development or quality concerns
5. Coordinate product activities across departments
6. Plan and manage daily tasks
7. Check manufacturing drawings and customer information sheets for accuracy and completeness
8. Manage document and drawing updates, maintaining the Design workload within targets
9. Uphold EN9100 standards, adhere to procedures, and seek continuous improvement

Qualifications, Skills And Experience

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Electronic Engineering or relevant industry experience
• Proficiency in Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, or similar software, with FEA experience
• Project experience in relevant fields
