A leading automotive company in Peterborough is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop state-of-the-art systems for the next generation of engines. The role involves driving performance, quality, and innovation through cross-functional collaboration, leading design reviews, and utilizing CAD and PLM tools. Ideal candidates will have a strong mechanical engineering background and knowledge of manufacturing processes. Competitive hourly rate offered.

  • CAD, Creo, and PLM (Teamcenter) preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of powertrain/engine component design.
  • Good grasp of manufacturing principles and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing engine components and systems.
  • Leading design reviews and driving cross-functional decisions.

  • Using Creo and Teamcenter to create and manage powertrain designs.
  • Running FMEA, APQP, DVP&R and tackling issues using 8D methodology.
  • Supporting testing, validation, and production readiness.

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Rate: Circa £48/hr

Duration: 12 months, likely to extend

Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
