Design Engineer

Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about design? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Design Support Engineer to join a growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a strong interest in design, eager to learn and develop within a dynamic environment.

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 (DoE)

Hours: 8am - 4:30pm

Location: Northampton

Why This Role?

Following a period of significant growth and an expanding project pipeline, our client is looking to strengthen their Design & Technical team. To support the next phase of development, they require an additional team member to assist with crucial design tasks and project execution. Reporting to the Head of Technical & Design, this role focuses on CAD edits, project documentation, and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

1. Modify and revise designs using AutoCAD.
2. Perform routine CAD edits and updates to meet project specifications.
3. Create and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
4. Provide administrative assistance to the engineering team, including data entry and electronic filing.
5. Collaborate with colleagues to track project schedules and ensure effective communication.
6. Assist in preparing design presentations and project proposals.

The ideal candidate will:

1. Have a strong interest in CAD and a desire to enhance their skills.
2. Ideally have experience using AutoCAD (though not essential).
3. Be highly organised and comfortable handling routine but critical tasks.
4. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Be proficient in Microsoft applications and adept with digital documentation.
6. Demonstrate a team-first mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
