Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Design & Projects team. The role involves producing detailed drawings and layouts for customer projects using AutoCAD and Revit, and developing BIM workflows.

You will work closely with the Design Manager and Projects team to convert customer requirements into accurate engineering drawings, coordinate with customers and installation teams, and support internal design processes while handling multiple projects to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong AutoCAD experience.
• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines.
• Good communication skills to liaise with customers and contractors.
• Ability to work independently within a wider engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Producing detailed layout and route drawings using AutoCAD and Revit
• Converting customer requirements into accurate engineering drawings and layouts
• Working with Revit models and Autodesk Docs for project file sharing
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and customer specifications
• Coordinating designs with customers, colleagues, factory teams and installation contractors
• Working closely with the wider engineering team to ensure designs meet project requirements
• Supporting the development and improvement of internal design processes
• Carrying out occasional site surveys to gather information for project designs
• Maintaining accurate project records in line with company quality procedures
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously and working to agreed deadlines
• Supporting the wider group with the development of BIM modelling and Revit-based design
• Liaising with engineering and projects teams throughout the project lifecycle

This is a varied opportunity for a Design Engineer, CAD Engineer or Draughtsperson with strong AutoCAD skills who is looking to develop their experience across detailed engineering design, 3D modelling and BIM. Full Product training is available, however

Design Engineer Role Outline

Skillset overview

We are interested in hearing from Design Engineers, CAD Designers, CAD Engineers, Design Draughtspersons and Engineering Draughtspersons with a strong background in 2D CAD.

You will ideally have:

• Strong AutoCAD experience
• Experience producing detailed engineering or technical drawings
• The ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• The ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines
• Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise with customers and contractors
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider engineering team

Experience with Revit, Autodesk Docs or Inventor would be advantageous but is not essential.
