Design Engineer -Kidderminster - Permanent role - Competitive + Excellent Benefits

Shorterm Group have teamed up with a French-Anglo defence company who are looking to appoint a Technical Design Engineer to join their future Factory team.

The Role:
As a Technical Engineer, you'll support the successful delivery of key construction and M&E elements within their site Modernisation Programme. Reporting to the Site Modernisation Manager, you will ensure that project objectives are met through sound engineering methods and proactive stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the day-to-day coordination of construction and M&E projects

Monitor project timelines, identifying and mitigating potential delays

Manage and maintain key project documents related to schedule and cost

Develop HSE documentation in line with templates and legal standards

Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and support functions

Attend cross-functional meetings relating to safety, cost, and engineering progress

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:

BTEC in Mechanical Engineering

Construction or Electrical qualification

Strong knowledge of construction methodology and M&E installations

Ability to interpret construction, mechanical, and electrical schematics

Desirable:

2+ years as a project engineer or coordinator (ideally in construction or FM)

AutoCAD experience

Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline

Person Profile:
A confident team player with excellent communication skills

Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable leading or contributing to meetings and briefings

Willingness to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially MS Project
