Salary: Competitive, DOE
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours: Monday – Friday, 37 hours – An element of flexibility as to when hours are worked

We are now recruiting for a Design Engineer to develop marketing leading new and improved products with a competitive advantage!

You will develop and support the engineering team to become the driver for competence, quality and innovation.

Additionally, as our Design Engineer you will:

  • Provide focussed, quality support, including the use of 8D reports.
  • Introduce 1 new product per engineer per year.
  • Establish and implement training plans for each engineer.
  • Lead and drive for new / improved products that the market needs, based on solid customer interaction.
  • Control all projects using MS projects.
  • Manage NPI projects using the NPI funnel from concept to product launch.
  • Co-ordinate and lead client and third party visits.
  • Seek engineering cost reduction opportunities and plan the implementation and delivery.
  • Perform feasibility studies on new products or projects.

In order to be successful in this role it’s essential that you have:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing high precision mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in the launch of at least 3 – 5 new products.
  • Experience with direct customer interaction (including travelling).

It would be great if you had:

  • UHV market knowledge with both customers and suppliers.
  • Experience working with computer data systems (ERP).
