Job summary

System Recruitment Limited is seeking a Junior Project Design Engineer for a leading designer and manufacturer of bespoke LED lighting, based at Highgate, London. You will join the project management and product development team to work on iconic architectural projects worldwide.

The successful candidate will have LED lighting experience or related electronics, a design background with SolidWorks 3D CAD, and a keen eye for detail, sustainability, and effective communication with internal teams

Qualifications

• Experience with LED lighting development, production or testing preferred.
• SolidWorks 3D CAD experience expected.
• Knowledge of batch production techniques from low to medium volume.
• Knowledge of plastics and metals mechanical production processes including rapid prototyping.

• Join the project management and product development team to work on iconic architectural projects around the world.
• Communicate effectively with in-house assembly team, suppliers, sub-contractors and lighting designers/specifiers.
• Support sustainable production processes and design optimization.
• Assist on-site with contractors to resolve installation issues.

Job description

A leading designer and manufacture of bespoke specification-grade LED lighting have an immediate requirement for a Junior Project Design Engineer to join them at their offices in Highgate, London.

Location: Highgate, London, N6 5UA

As Junior Project Design Engineer you will join the project management and product development team to work on iconic architectural projects around the world.

Ideally you will have experience of LED lighting including the development, production and testing of LED lighting or similar professional electronic equipment.

As Junior Project Design Engineer you will have:

• An organised and methodical design approach with a focus on detail.
• Aware of sustainable production processes.
• Visually design conscious.
• Commercially focused
• Able to communicate effectively with the in-house assembly team, suppliers, sub-contractors and lighting designers / lighting specifiers.
• Knowledge of batch production techniques from low to medium volume.
• Knowledge of mechanical production processes for plastics and metals including rapid prototyping, finishing etc.
• Knowledge of electronics and software for LED lighting .
• SolidWorks 3D CAD experience expected.
• Experience of working on site with contractors to resolve installation issues would be useful.
• Interest in design automation and AI in engineering would be an advantage

This role is ideal for a design graduate who has experience with LED / Lighting and or similar electronics who lives within commutable distance of Highgate, London, N6.
