The Role

The Role:

We’re looking for a practical, detail-driven Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team.

This is a hands-on design role where you’ll take ownership of projects from concept through to production and installation, working closely with our Engineering Director, colleagues, suppliers, and customers.

You won’t just be sat behind a screen, you’ll see your designs come to life in the field, solving real-world challenges across multiple industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design bespoke dehumidification and air handling systems using 2D/3D CAD software.
  • Carry out airflow, psychrometric, and heat load calculations to ensure system performance.
  • Select and specify components including fans, filters, coils, heaters, desiccant wheels, and controls.
  • Produce fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and suppliers to deliver successful projects.
  • Support technical documentation including CE/UKCA compliance, EMC/LVD directives, and risk assessments.
  • Contribute to product development and continuous improvement projects.
  • Attend site visits and assist with installation or commissioning where needed.
  • Site visits are typically UK based but can be worldwide.
What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or HVAC Design.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in HVAC, AHU, or related equipment design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor).
  • Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and ventilation systems.
  • Confident in producing technical documentation and mechanical drawings.
Desirable
  • Experience with desiccant dehumidification or bespoke air handling units.
  • Knowledge of ATEX requirements and hazardous area applications.
  • Familiarity with CE/UKCA marking, EMC, LVD, and Machinery Directives.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, or motor drives.
