COMPANY DESCRIPTION, PROFILE AND SCOPE OF ROLE

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer who can demonstrate strong competency in the use of SolidWorks, and is qualified to BEng, HND/C, or similar level in an engineering or Product / Industrial Design discipline.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop within an established, highly successful, and growing independently branded company, which is part of a global organization employing staff on both sides of the Atlantic.

Working within a highly professional engineering team, you’ll play a key role in developing products from concept through to manufacture, as well as participating in product and process improvement projects.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Product design and development for new and existing product manufacturing.
  2. Involvement in research and development linked to prototype builds and testing.
  3. Identification, consideration, and implementation of product improvement projects.
  4. Creating production-ready data, including engineering drawings, bills of materials, and 3D CAD models.
  5. Liaising with suppliers throughout the complete product development process.
  6. Understanding and implementing relevant product approvals.
  7. Providing technical support for customers, suppliers, and development partners as required.
  8. Adhering to internal quality management systems.
  9. Managing product development projects.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Ideally qualified to BEng, HND/C, or similar level in an engineering or Product / Industrial Design discipline, though other relevant qualifications and experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience working within a design/manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding and application of design strategy.
  • Proactive in driving and managing product development projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to respond within a dynamic development environment.
  • Sound understanding of material selection, production, and manufacturing processes.
  • Good 3D CAD skills, preferably within SolidWorks, and knowledge of good engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and/or compressor design is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a desire to get things right the first time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good communication skills, capable of engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
DETAILS OF PACKAGE

Salary from £40,000 to £50,000 (depending on experience) + PR Bonus (up to 8%) + flexible working hours (details negotiable) + benefits (39-hour week) 07:30 – 16:00 Mon – Thurs / 07:00 – 14:00 Fri.
