THE ROLE:

Designer/Technician required for the world’s leading manufacturer of high-end, feature staircases.

• Must have knowledge and experience using AutoCAD as a minimum
• Parametric modeling for 3D CAD preferred to direct modeling
• Autodesk Fusion 360 experience would be desirable
• Familiar with bespoke metalwork & architectural products
• Experience in the design of stairs and balustrades is a distinct advantage
• Comfortable liaising with internal departments, customers, and suppliers
• Must be adaptable, able to work on own initiative and multi-task
• Proficient in MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Commercially aware
• Suitable for architectural technicians or product designers with built environment experience

The role involves designing feature staircases from scratch occasionally, but mainly developing existing designs from leading architects into construction-ready plans. You will consider aesthetics, buildability, program, budget, and sustainability in your designs.

Responsibilities include specifying materials, components, and finishes that meet project briefs, regulations, and are commercially viable and available.

You will collaborate with the project design team and liaise with our production facility in the Netherlands and installers in the UK.

Organized document management and careful client communication are essential to ensure contract compliance and proper management of variations.

Our projects are of the highest quality, working with leading architects on large, high-end commercial schemes, retail, or ultra-high-end residential projects, often acting as a specialist subcontractor.

Quality

Ensure RFIs are produced correctly and promptly to keep projects on schedule.

Follow QA procedures to promote best practices.

Customer relations

Build and maintain relationships with clients and external customers.

Attend design meetings, report on progress, and communicate proactively to keep clients informed.
