Job summary

CK International is seeking a Design Engineer in Dungannon to drive multiple projects from concept to delivery. You will design bespoke baling machinery, including hydraulic and electrical systems, and work with autonomy across geographically spread projects.

You will create initial concepts, evolve designs, produce detailed drawings, amend with customer changes, and liaise with manufacturing to meet schedules. Travel to sites for installations is required.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a heavy engineering design role.
• Proficient in 2D/3D modelling using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Develop initial concept drawings/models for customers.

• Amend designs for bespoke customer changes.

Design Engineer

The role will report directly into the Engineering Manager, the role will require multiple projects to run concurrently and meet customer deadlines.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop new bespoke baling machinery from concept to delivery, including all hydraulic and electrical system design. Whilst based in Dungannon projects are wide ranging geographically and the successful candidate will be expected to operate with a large degree of autonomy.

The Job:

• Develop initial concept drawings/models for customers.
• Evolve concept designs into detailed designs incorporating mechanical, hydraulic and electrical features.
• Create detailed engineering drawings for manufacture.
• Amend existing designs for bespoke customer changes.
• Manage customer queries through the project.
• Liaise with manufacturing team to ensure projects run to schedule.
• Maintain technical specifications and user documentation.
• Completion of BOMs.
• Manage engineering deliverables to project schedule.
• Traveling to site to oversee and complete installations and commissioning.
• Assist aftersales team with troubleshooting hydraulic/mechanical/electrical issues.

The Person:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or similar)or possess significant relevant experience
• At least 3 years' experience in heavy engineering design role
• 2D and 3D modelling experience (AutoCAD / Solidworks)
• Excellent time management and communication skills
• Excellent people and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of DFM
• Logical thinker with good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to travel
• Driving Licence
