Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd in Clacton-On-Sea is recruiting a Design Engineer to join our manufacturing client’s growing team on a permanent basis. You will manage multiple projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time and to specification.

The role requires knowledge of DfMA, proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, and proven experience in managing several projects simultaneously. Competitive salary £35,000 - £38,000 plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of DfMA principles.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
• Track record in managing multiple projects.
• Strong decision making and communication skills.
• Over 5 years’ experience working as a Design Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project priorities and deliverables.
• Liaise with the engineering, project, buying and manufacturing teams internally, throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching and drawing reviews for junior designers.
• Look at continuous improvement methods where possible.
• DfMA (Design for Manufacture & Assembly) across all projects.
• Develop automated design tool models, whilst also revisiting existing design applications.
