Job summary

A leading design and manufacturing company based near St Helens is seeking a Designer / Draughtsperson for a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will join the Design team, creating detailed drawings and engineering packages utilizing AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Ideal applicants should have a strong background in sheet metal design and ideally be HNC qualified. This position promises a stimulating environment to further develop your engineering skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in generating engineering packages and drawings.
• Qualified ideally to HNC level.
• Knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication is highly preferable.

• Support Project Manager in generating drawings from initial layout to manufacture.

Designer / Draughtsperson

Certain Advantage are recruiting for our manufacturer near St Helens for a Designer / Draughtsperson to work onsite 5 days (37 hours).

This is a 6 month contract position working Inside IR35.

Our client are a leader in the design and manufacturing of shielded testing rooms and chambers for use in the testing of equipment, e.g. for electro-magnetic and radio frequency interference.

The Role & Candidate Requirements
· You will work as part of the Design team supporting the Project Manager to generate drawings from initial layout through to manufacture.
· You will generate complete engineering packages including GA drawings in AutoCAD, as well as assemblies and models in SolidWorks 3D modelling software and generate structured bills of material.
· Ideally qualified to HNC level, experience in sheet metal design & fabrication is highly preferable.
· A good working knowledge of both AutoCAD & SolidWorks 3D modelling software is essential.
