About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Draughtsperson to join our Engineering Support team in Great Yarmouth. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for drafting mechanical systems for oilfield service equipment. The role involves coordinating with various internal departments, external consultants, and fabrication contractors, ensuring speed and accuracy and throughout all stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform drafting activities as required for the Engineering department
  • Draft components under guidance based on engineering principles and existing examples
  • Support R&D and liaise with internal experts and external vendors
  • Create schematic and process flow drawings under guidance
  • Ensure strong inter-departmental communication for standardization and coordination
  • Participate in technical/sales meetings and provide drawing time estimates
  • Contribute to weekly project meetings and on-site measurement tasks
  • Monitor fabrication processes to ensure alignment with design intent
  • Compile job summary reports for continual improvement
  • Comply with all HSE policies and confidentiality requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • A technical or engineering qualification (from NVQ Level 3 upwards)
  • Proficient in SolidWorks; AutoCAD experience (Advantageous)
  • Familiarity with service equipment in the energy industry (Advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with PLM/ERP systems and project management (Advantageous)
  • Full, current UK driving licence (Advantageous)
