This is a fully remote opportunity for a creative and strategic design leader to shape the future of commerce technology. As Design Director, you’ll lead a multidisciplinary team across UX/UI, brand, marketing, and product design to deliver seamless user experiences and impactful visual identities. You’ll operate at both strategic and hands-on levels, combining big-picture thinking with strong design execution. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth, fast-paced environments and is ready to build a high-performing design function from the ground up.

Accountabilities:

• Define and own the end-to-end design strategy across product, brand, marketing, and web
• Lead, mentor, and scale a global, multidisciplinary team of designers
• Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to align design goals with business objectives
• Champion user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
• Establish scalable design systems that enhance consistency and efficiency
• Drive high-quality execution through prototyping, testing, and iteration
• Present and advocate for design concepts at the executive level
• Maintain hands-on involvement to ensure design excellence and alignment

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in UX or product design with a track record of delivering exceptional digital experiences
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role, managing and developing design teams
• Strong portfolio showcasing strategic impact and hands-on design execution
• Deep experience in Figma and other modern design/prototyping tools
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities
• Strong systems thinking, user-centric mindset, and understanding of business impact
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth, remote-first environments
• A passion for solving real problems with elegant, user-focused design
• Salary up to $160,000 / £110,000 depending on location and experience
