This fully remote role offers an exciting opportunity for a creative and strategic design leader to shape the future of commerce technology. As Design Director, you will lead a multidisciplinary team across UX/UI, brand, marketing, and product design to deliver seamless user experiences and impactful visual identities. The role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on design execution, ideal for someone thriving in high-growth, fast-paced environments and capable of building a high-performing design function from scratch.

Accountabilities:

1. Define and own the end-to-end design strategy across product, brand, marketing, and web.
2. Lead, mentor, and scale a global, multidisciplinary team of designers.
3. Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to align design goals with business objectives.
4. Champion user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
5. Establish scalable design systems that enhance consistency and efficiency.
6. Drive high-quality execution through prototyping, testing, and iteration.
7. Present and advocate for design concepts at the executive level.
8. Maintain hands-on involvement to ensure design excellence and alignment.

Requirements:

1. 10+ years of experience in UX or product design with a proven track record of delivering exceptional digital experiences.
2. Minimum 3 years in leadership roles managing and developing design teams.
3. Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic impact and hands-on design skills.
4. Deep experience with Figma and other modern design/prototyping tools.
5. Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
6. Strong systems thinking, user-centric approach, and understanding of business impact.
7. Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth, remote-first environments.
8. A passion for solving real problems with elegant, user-focused design.
