Job summary

R/GA in London is seeking a Design Director, Motion to lead across brand, product, experience and campaigns. You will set motion principles and translate them into machine-readable outputs, leveraging AI and generative tools with 3D knowledge as a strong plus.

The ideal candidate brings 6-8+ years of agency motion experience, mastery of motion design and production-ready outputs, and the ability to mentor teams while collaborating with directors, strategists and technologists.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years agency experience in motion design
• Strong conceptual thinking connecting motion, brand and interaction
• Fluency with AI/generative tools for image and motion generation
• Comfort with ambiguity, initiative and craft
• Experience turning systems into tokens or machine-readable formats

Responsibilities

• Lead motion across brand, product, experience and campaigns from identity systems to immersive work
• Define motion systems and translate them into tokens for the wider team
• Maintain meticulous attention to craft and production-readiness of outputs
• Integrate AI, generative tools and 3D thinking into workflows
• Spot opportunities and proactively bring ideas forward
• Collaborate with creative directors, strategists and technologists to turn ideas into moving solutions
• Mentor and coach junior and mid-level designers
• Own client presentations and articulate motion rationale and craft value
