Job summary

Bimplus is supporting a major civil engineering subcontractor on a flagship project in Derby. We are seeking a Design Coordinator who can help coordinate design information, manage deliverables and support the design team across multidisciplinary contracts.

With 2-3 years in a design/technical role within civil engineering, you’ll work alongside the Design Manager to ensure timely, compliant design outputs and help build a long-term career in design management on a high-profile scheme.

Qualifications

• Around 2–3 years’ experience in a Design Coordinator, Technical Coordinator or Design Engineer role.
• Experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, reinforced concrete or major construction projects.
• Good understanding of the design coordination process and how design supports successful project delivery.
• Strong organisational and communication skills and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design information between consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams.
• Assist with management of design deliverables, programmes and technical documentation.
• Review drawings and information to identify buildability and coordination issues.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries and design information throughout the project lifecycle.
• Attend design meetings and work with engineers, site teams and external designers.
• Ensure design information is issued accurately and on time to support construction activities.
• Support technical compliance, design assurance and design risk management.
• Build strong working relationships with project stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of design packages.
