Job summary

GE Detailing Ltd. is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to coordinate resources and lead the design of works per client specifications. You will liaise with in-house teams, clients, and structural engineers to ensure timely fabrication-ready designs.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in design within fabrication/structural steel, with Advance Steel experience preferred. You will manage BIM requirements, conduct site surveys, and support the design standards development while handling

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification to HNC or equivalent industry experience.
• Min 5 years design experience, preferably in fabrication/structural steel.
• Experience with architectural feature stairs would be an advantage.
• Understanding of BS & Euro specifications.
• Experience in Advance Steel (or similar) with training available if required.
• Excellent time management and prioritisation to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the resource required to carry out the design of works to our clients' specifications, both internally and externally.
• Liaise with in-house teams and communicate with clients and structural engineers to enable timely issue of designs for fabrication.
• Issue all production works and BOMs to relevant internal departments.
• Manage project BIM requirements.

• Assist the design department in developing company product design standards.

• Assistance with the design departments development of company product design standards
• General Drawing Office administration roles where required

Ideal Skills/Experience

• Engineering qualified to HNC, or equivalent industry experience
• Min 5 years design experience, preferably in fabrication/structural steel. Typically, balustrading, Access stairs, Gantry's
• Experience of architectural feature stairs would be an advantage
• An understanding of relevant BS & Euro specifications
• Experience in Advance Steel (or similar) is key however training would be available if required
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills needed to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with clients/architects/structural engineers/sub-contractors and in-house management teams
• Be able to work closely with the Design Manager to deliver projects to schedule and cost.
