Severn Trent’s Capital Design team is part of an award-winning, innovative water company committed to delivering exceptional water and waste services. Our five-year programme includes over 5,000 projects addressing issues like flooding and river health, aiming for positive environmental impact.

We seek a Engineering Design Business Lead to oversee feasibility, outline, and detailed designs for capital solutions, supporting over £6bn of investments in the next five years. The role involves developing portfolio strategies for future investments and leading a team of 6-9 direct reports, with a total team size of 40-70 people, including external consultants.

The ideal candidate will:

• Align designs with strategic goals for carbon neutrality
• Enhance natural and social environments
• Ensure value for money and milestone achievement
• Comply with company policies and standards

Leadership responsibilities include resource management, overseeing external design work, managing costs, and fostering industry relationships.
