Job summary

Clark Contracts Ltd is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process for our Design & Build projects, coordinating internal teams and external consultants to meet programme and budget requirements.

You will oversee pre-construction and construction design stages, chair design team meetings, manage design risk, and ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures while maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as Design Manager on Design & Build projects or with main contractors.
• Ability to lead a design team and chair design meetings with internal and external members.
• Pre- and post-contract design management experience and knowledge of relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process across Design & Build projects and coordinate consultants in line with appointments.
• Oversee pre-construction and construction design stages and manage the design development process.
• Coordinate design requirements with other departments and project teams to meet programme and budget.
• Ensure design work complies with company procedures and industry standards.
• Chair design team meetings, prepare reports, and manage information release schedules.
• Support on-site with design verification, value engineering, and risk management.
• Research new products and construction methods to improve efficiency and sustainability.
