Smiths Group is seeking an experienced Design Automation Engineer to innovate and optimize engineering workflows. You’ll automate design processes, develop applications, interfaces, and databases, and support CAD automation across Solid Edge.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams will drive scalable solutions and design quality. The role focuses on Rulestream-based design automation, .NET stack, and integration with SQL Server/Oracle, delivering efficient, maintainable tools for

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
Strong experience in CAD Automation and/or Engineering Application Development.
Experience as a full-stack developer across desktop, web, and client applications.
Solid understanding of Rulestream Architect, Engineer, VIA Web and Integration; ASP.NET, C#.NET, EF6, LINQ; REST/SOAP APIs; JSON/XML; WinForms/WPF.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain engineering automation applications using Rulestream, C#.NET and VB.NET to automate configurable standard designs within Solid Edge.
Collaborate with Senior Application Engineer to develop applications, interfaces, databases, and integrations.
Develop and support automation solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across design processes.
Work with SQL Server and Oracle databases to support development and integration requirements.
Perform full-stack development across desktop, web, and client applications while acting as a Rulestream Architect.
