Job description

Role Overview

The Design Manager is responsible for coordinating design disciplines plus constraints (Planning, land, Enviro). Responsibilities include conducting design reviews and ensuring interfaces are correct as well as managing and reviewing subcontracted designs.

What will you be doing?

• Design management for Solar and BESS, projects in the UK.
• Coordintate design and Engineering disciplines, project constraints (Planning, Land, Environmental), Mechanical design, Electrical design, Civil design, SCADA and communication
• Work with project Managers, coordinating and providing engineering and design support from concept through to delivery
• Management of subcontracted designs
• Design reviews and sign offs
• Participating in monthly management meetings
• Support training and mentoring of the engineering design team members in the UK
• Work closely with theHead of Design, concerning strategic decisions for projects
• Work with the UK design teams to support the wider business as required.

What are we looking for?

• Varied engineering background with extensive management experience in the renewable engineering sector
• Extensive BESS & Solar PV project delivery experience (large scale multi MWs)
• Professional Engineering academic background – Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy / Power Systems Engineering or equivalent
• Knowledge of relevant software tools, AutoCAD, PV Syst, PV Case
• Conversant with all relevant design and building standards and protocols
• Leadership experience
• Comfortable in fast paced, high growth environment
