Job summary

EGIS is seeking a Design Assurance Engineer to support National Grid BP141 design assurance on a range of projects. The role ensures designs meet National Grid specifications, engineering standards, regulatory requirements and safety benchmarks, with close collaboration with National Grid project teams, DNOs and contractors.

Qualifications

• Essential BP141 design assurance authorisation.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards CEng.
• Proven experience in infrastructure design or design assurance within electricity transmission or DNO sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure related to the discipline.
• Experience producing or reviewing designs for National Grid or DNO projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review design submissions for compliance with National Grid specs, procedures and standards.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to address gaps, non-compliance or risks.
• Support completion of DCAAR packs once requirements are met.
• Engage in regular design review meetings with stakeholders.
• Coordinate with other design assurance disciplines and interfaces.
• Serve as the primary design contact between National Grid project teams and contractor teams.
• Identify safety, reliability and performance risks and suggest mitigations.
• Maintain documentation and reporting per BP188 processes.
