Job Description Summary

Designs major components, or major portions of a functional system, or technically advanced prototype, promotional or specific products. Develops, or improves, products and facilitates manufacturing operations. Develops basic data and makes preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposals. Investigates pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength‑weight efficiency, contractual specification requirements, and cost. Coordinates with other organizations affected by design development. Makes layouts of assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, structures, and products. Checks completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.

Major Accountabilities

• Broadly experienced specialists managing a small unit or project.
• May be responsible for managing others: leads/co‑leads novel projects within the team.
• Generates innovative ideas within own team and/or project team/functional community.
• Mentors and inspires others to solve problems.
• Reports technical complaints, adverse events, or special case scenarios related to Sandoz products within 24 hours of receipt.
• Distributes marketing samples (where applicable).

• Customer/partner/project feedback and satisfaction.
• Adherence to Sandoz policy and guidelines.
