We’re looking for aDesign Assistant to join our team to assist and support thefull Monsoon LadiesDesign departmentto develop an original and innovative range, in line with the critical path, brand handwriting and business objectives.

What will you do as a Design Assistant?

  • Trend research and Sourcing – assist in identifying seasonal trends as appropriate for the brand including key prints, colours, embroideries, and shapes for the season.
  • Create unique, in-house products which deliver newness and commerciality, under team guidance
  • Assist in compiling strong reference material for the wider team
  • Produce and create design briefs/specs within area, under team guidance.
  • Ability to collate and edit catwalk information specific to department and brand
  • Ability to translate product design across different categories
  • Support the print team on administrative based design task
  • Where required, assist in supporting of the Critical Path for product areas, ensuring effective communication with Suppliers and relevant team members
  • Support Design department by managing stationary orders and maintaining expense sheets, maintaining heritage rooms and archive systems
  • Support Design department on couriers and post, across full team.
  • What will you need to succeed as a Design Assistant?

  • Experienced Design Assistant with creative and technical ability to support and design across a multi-product collection.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about design.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work under own initiative
  • Confident and articulate communicator with an ability to build strong relationships
  • Ability to deliver to tight timescales and work under pressure
  • A good eye for colour
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of ‘brand handwriting ‘
  • CAD skills/ Drawing & Painting skills
  • Efficient in Adobe Creative Cloud programmes
  • Experience in embroidery design would be beneficial
  • Hands on approach to working collaboratively across multiple departments
