Wilmington Academy is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Design and Technology Technician to join our thriving and innovative D&T department.
As a Design and Technology Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our exciting and engaging D&T curriculum, which encompasses Catering, Design, and Engineering. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for practical design and technology who is eager to contribute to the success of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and maintaining resources, materials, and equipment for practical lessons across all D&T specialisms (wood, metal, plastics, textiles, electronics, CAD/CAM, food).
Assisting teaching staff and students during practical lessons, demonstrating techniques and providing guidance.
Ensuring the safe and effective operation of machinery and tools, including conducting regular safety checks and maintenance.
Managing stock levels, ordering new materials, and ensuring a well-organised and tidy workshop environment.
Supporting the development and creation of teaching aids and displays.
Assisting with the set-up and dismantling of projects and exhibitions.
Adhering to all health and safety regulations and promoting a safe working culture.

This is a permanent, part-time opportunity for 22.5 hours per week, term-time plus one inset week. The actual annual salary is £13,640 (£26,079 full-time equivalent). We offer flexibility with working days and hours, which will be discussed during an interview.
