About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Design and Technology lessons across Key Stages 3-5, following exam specifications and incorporating a range of design processes and manufacturing techniques.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that foster creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including CAD/CAM software, workshop tools, and electronic components.
  • Assess student progress through design projects, practical tasks, and written work, providing detailed feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the development of the DT curriculum, integrating current technological trends and industry practices, and participate in departmental planning.
  • Organize and lead design and technology projects, workshops, and visits to local industries, promoting student engagement and practical application of skills.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Design and Technology subject knowledge, including product design, engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology to A-Level, with a focus on both theoretical concepts and practical applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and practical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and practical skills within a STEM-focused environment.
