Design and Technology Teacher - Secondary School near Derby

Location: 25 minutes from Derby City Centre
Start Date: September 2025
Daily Rate: .62 (dependent on experience)

Do you want to work in a forward-thinking, supportive secondary school just outside of Derby?

Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school, just 25 minutes from Derby city centre. We're seeking a passionate DT teacher to join their committed team from September 2025 on a full-time basis.



The Role:

You'll be delivering Design and Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, engaging students in both practical and theoretical elements of the subject. The department is well-resourced with modern equipment and encourages innovation, creativity, and problem-solving.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and creativity

  • Supporting students of all abilities to make progress

  • Contributing to the wider life of the school and department

  • Maintaining high standards of classroom management and safeguarding



The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching Design and Technology at KS3 and KS4

  • A passion for design, innovation, and making learning engaging

  • Excellent subject knowledge and classroom presence

  • A collaborative approach and positive attitude
